ASME Award

Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, today ASME International is a nonprofit educational and technical organization serving a worldwide membership of 125,000. ASME is the premier organization for promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical engineering throughout the world. Packer Engineering was recently awarded an ASME Industry Plaque for the acknowledgement and appreciation of outstanding services to the society.

Maureen Murray, Director of Engineering Mechanics at Packer Engineering, has served on the ASME Fox Valley Section Executive Board since 1999 including the positions of Director, Vice Chair, and Chair as well as being the Program Chair for the last 4 years. Packer Engineering gave presentations on Accident Investigation at ASME meetings in Feb. and Nov. 2002 and a presentation on the 1903 Wright flyer project at the Dec. 2002 meeting. Packer Engineering has also provided the use of video equipment, computers and computer equipment for many ASME section meetings and the use of company conference rooms for several executive board meetings. There was a tour of Packer Engineering for ASME members in April 2000. Packer encourages membership in ASME and pays ASME membership dues for over 20 engineers in their employ.
