Human Performance

Human performance focuses on the application of data regarding human capabilities to assess or predict performance in complex environments. Key issues include the information processing capabilities of the human brain, the capabilities and limitations of the sensory processing system, and the physical attributes and capabilities of the musculoskeletal system. Human factors applications involve concentration on the characteristics of humans which need to be considered when designing and manufacturing the equipment, systems, procedures, tasks, and environments necessary for optimal safety, use, operation, efficiency, maintainability, and comfort. Our human performance experts provide services in the areas of:

  • Accident Reconstruction
  • Anthropometry
  • Anthropomorphic Dummy Tests
  • Electronics Assessment
  • Equipment Reach Envelope Studies
  • Reaction   Response Time Assessment
  • Slip, Trip,   Fall Assessment
  • Vision   Visibility Analysis

Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the scientific study of the relationship between people and the working environment. Ergonomics traditionally focuses on how work affects people as well as their physiological responses to both physical demands and environmental stressors. Our engineers study the anatomical, physiological, and psychological aspects of workers in working environments with the object of optimizing health, safety, comfort, and efficiency. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Anatomical, Physiological, & Psychological Aspects of Work
  • Environmental Stressors (Heat, Noise, Illumination, & Task Complexity)
  • Ergonomic Training to Prevent or Mitigate Injuries
  • Musculoskeletal Disorders
