Christopher F. Schemel, Ph.D.
Senior Vice PresidentDr. Schemel’s duties include management and development of projects for industrial clients and governmental agencies. In addition, he provides technical and managerial leadership for the Fire Science and Fire Safety Engineering Group. His experience includes: product research and development, process fire/explosion hazard analysis and incident investigations and, process problem solving. Dr. Schemel's specific skills include a strong background in chemical/process engineering, fire science, and statistical methods for design of experiments, analysis and production improvement.
His experience includes leading and participating in investigations of numerous fire and explosion incidents in a variety of industrial facilities, including many complex, multi-disciplined efforts. He has written expert reports and provided testimony on several of these projects.
Most of his career, he conducted research to include product development, failure analysis, design of experiments and analysis of data. He has also been involved in production process problem solving involving a wide range of issues.
Dr. Schemel has published articles in peer reviewed journals. He belongs to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers.
