Edward J. Tuczak, P.E.
Director Structural EngineeringMr. Tuczak is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the States of Michigan and Ohio. His areas of investigative practice are building structures, architectural engineering, site construction, and building utilities and services. Mr. Tuczak practices the investigation and analysis of building materials, construction products, building envelope performance, structural failures, building distress, collapses during building erection, construction site accidents, circumstances surrounding water break incidents, and built conditions associated with personal injury claims. Mr. Tuczak also has extensive knowledge of various building codes (both past and present), Federal OSHA and State MIOSHA regulations, industry design standards, and customary construction practices.
Mr. Tuczak’s design experience includes new construction, expansion, re-work, and demolition of industrial, commercial, and power generation facilities. Mr. Tuczak has conducted fall protection analysis and designed fall arrest systems for the industrial workplace. Mr. Tuczak has also designed support systems for various building utilities and process piping.
Mr. Tuczak is familiar with many structural systems involving steel, reinforced concrete, precast concrete, light gauge metals, masonry, and wood. His architectural systems knowledge includes low and steep-sloped roofs, metal wall and roof systems, masonry veneers, residential/commercial doors and windows. Mr. Tuczak’s civil design experience includes utilities systems, paving and grading, and site features.
Prior to joining Packer Engineering, Mr. Tuczak performed the analysis and design of structural, architectural, and civil-site systems for industrial, commercial, governmental, power generation, and health care facilities. He has been responsible for design customization for industrial process equipment, architectural design coordination, on-site construction administration of design changes, resolution of construction conflicts, and technical support of process equipment installation.
Mr. Tuczak has certifications in Facilities Management and Administration as well as in Project Management. Mr. Tuczak is an authorized trainer for Federal OSHA 30-hour and 10-hour construction safety classes. He has also earned a Master of Business Administration degree while working full time.
