Jane W. Candela
Vice-President Knowledge ServicesAs Director of Knowledge Services, Ms. Candela coordinates the Knowledge Services Center staff, reference and research efforts, as well as the necessary support functions to maintain the collection of technical books, standards, journals and file literature. She also coordinates the Knowledge Development function which provides training and education resources to address the technical, business and communication skills of Packer employees.
Ms. Candela is the recipient of the Special Libraries Association, Illinois Chapter 2004 Up and Coming Award, presented to a new Illinois Chapter member who through work and professional involvement shows promise of becoming and outstanding member of the profession.
The Packer Engineering Knowledge Services Center resources include: current and historical standards, codes, and specifications ranging from ANSI to SAE to UL; over 4,000 books; approximately 500 journals; more than 1,000 vehicle profiles; and access to online resources such as DIALOG and Factiva.
Prior to joining Packer Engineering, Ms. Candela worked as a paralegal. She was with Allstate Insurance Company\'s Law and Regulation Department for the majority of her career, working in both the Employment Law Division and the Personal Property and Casualty Law Division, where she researched substantive employment and insurance issues using such tools as Westlaw, Lexis and the Internet.
