Laura A.Wojcik, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Wojcik is an engineer based in Packer Engineering’s Ann Arbor, Michigan, office.  Her areas of specialization include biomechanics and mechanical engineering, with specific expertise in injury biomechanics, the biomechanics of human balance and falls, the effects of aging on the musculoskeletal and central nervous systems, kinematic and kinetic analyses of rigid body systems, and modeling and numerical simulation of dynamic systems.  Dr. Wojcik’s research has included experimental and analytical studies of human motion, the development of computational tools for musculoskeletal modeling, and statistical data analysis.

Prior to joining Packer Engineering, Dr. Wojcik consulted as a Senior Engineer with Exponent, Inc., in the areas of biomechanics, accident reconstruction, and mechanical engineering.  Prior to her consulting career, she was an assistant professor in the department of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Tech, where she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in statics, dynamics, structural vibrations, dynamic systems modeling, and biomedical engineering.  Before her faculty appointment, Dr. Wojcik was a Whitaker Fellow and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan.
