Mark Fleming, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Fleming is a mechanical engineer specializing in engineering and manufacturing analysis. He focuses on the analysis of mechanical components systems using computer simulation and is an expert in many computer simulation programs, including ABAQUS, Hypermesh, Optistruct, Ideas Master Series, PFC and Promodel.

Before joining Packer Engineering, Dr. Fleming spent six years at CNH Global (formerly Case Corporation). During that time, he developed and deployed advanced simulation technologies for the design analysis and optimization of agricultural and construction equipment, with an emphasis on rollover protection structures (ROPS), structural optimization, and reliability-based design analysis. He also managed a corporate-wide manufacturing simulations team for manufacturing process simulations and factory flow simulations.

Dr. Fleming\'s thesis work, while working on his PhD, centered on computational fracture mechanics for which he developed and applied meshless methods for simulating fatigue crack propagation. His thesis research, while working on his Master of Science degree focused on fatigue reliability methods with in-service inspections.
