Matthew R. Tuttle, P.E.

Director

Since joining Packer Engineering in 2008, Mr. Tuttle has employed his Industrial Engineering background by participating in projects relating to product and process investigations, safety and OSHA related issues, risk assessments, and human factors analyses. He has provided assistance on projects involving equipment such as industrial and commercial machinery, gas and process piping and various other process related equipment. He has provided expertise on projects requiring code and standards research and interpretation, specifically with regards to OSHA regulations and ANSI standards.

Mr. Tuttle’s undergraduate studies focused on traditional industrial engineering principles and practices. His course work included an emphasis in system optimization, manufacturing processes, operations research, linear programming, and human factors. His senior design project involved redesign of a manufacturing plant to optimize process flow and decrease costs. His graduate studies included occupational biomechanics, simulation of stochastic systems, reliability engineering, and decision analysis.

Prior to joining Packer Engineering full time, Mr. Tuttle spent three years working as an intern with the company. He assisted engineers on various projects related to failure analysis, accident investigation and reconstruction, and mechanical testing, as well as internal process organization. He provided assistance in a wide range of internal projects, including process realignment and development of organizational structure. While attending the University of Illinois, he held a teaching assistantship for an introductory course in the area of facilities planning and design.
