Noah L. Ryder, P.E., MScFPE, MBA, CFEI
DirectorMr. Ryder is a senior staff engineer responsible for conducting and directing hazard and failure analysis of fire and explosion suppression systems, chemical processes, and unit and manufacturing processes in order to analyze incidents and to provide recommendations to avoid fires and explosions. He utilizes Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling tools for fire reconstruction, scenario comparison, and design purposes. He has experience in modeling of the migration and dispersion of toxic and explosive gases resulting from a fire or failure in a chemical or mechanical process.
Mr. Ryder has experience reviewing and approving sprinkler and fire alarm plans when he worked as Senior Building Inspector for the Fairfax County Fire Marshall.
Mr. Ryder has a strong background in research and testing. He has extensive experience with standard fire tests as well as custom bench scale to full-scale fire tests for both combustion and fire related purposes.
Noah is honored to have received the Fire Technology Journal's 2002 Harry C. Bigglestone Award for Excellence in Written Communication of Fire Protection Concepts. He is the author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Delaware.
