Peggy Shibata, P.E.
Senior Staff EngineerMs. Shibata is an engineer based in the Ann Arbor, Michigan office of Packer Engineering, Inc. Her specialties include biomechanics, accident reconstruction/injury analysis, and mechanical modeling of human or machine element motion. She has received accident reconstruction certifications through both SAE and the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety.
Ms. Shibata was a National Science Foundation Fellow at the University of Michigan, where she earned graduate degrees in biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering. Her research involved whole-body biomechanics, balance, and the effects of aging on human motor performance and included studies of human motion, involving extensive experimental data acquisition, numerical analysis, and statistical data analysis. She also has experience in the evaluation of the mechanical properties of cardiac tissue and in the characterization of a magnetorheological (MR) fluid device for use in structural vibration control applications. Both her musculoskeletal and her cardiac biomechanics research were presented at engineering conferences in the United States and abroad.
Ms. Shibata is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Michigan (No.6201055794).
